How to use conditional logic

If this, then that. Conditional logic can be used in multi-step videoasks to skip steps or take people down a different path depending on their answers to questions (think "choose your own adventure").

Take a look at this tutorial video or keep scrolling for a step-by-step on how to set up logic in your flow:

Use conditional logic in conjunction with URL redirects to build funnels, surveys, or immersive experiences that are dependent on respondent choices, and make things way more conversational and human. šŸ¤—

If you don't add logic, your videoask will flow linearly (i.e., step 1 -> step 2 -> step 3, etc).Ā

To create conditions that take into account the answers to more than one step of your videoask, learn how to use advanced logic or check out how to assign scores and use scores in logic jumps.

Note: This article details how to use logic with both the Map view and Linear view of the videoask builder. Conditional logic may be used with both builder views, but Map view visually displays your logic, whereas Linear view does not. Learn how to set a default and switch between builder views.

2

There are a couple of different ways to add a new step:

Click and drag a node to create a new step with logic.

Another way to add a step is by clicking the + icon on your map in the relevant location.

You can also select an answer type from the left side menu, then drag and drop it over any + icons. Flashing green dots will appear to indicate where you can drop a step.

Note: In order to use conditional logic, aĀ multiple-choice, NPSĀ®, AI Chatbot, or Live Call answer type must be selected for the step where a logic jump will be made.

3

When you add a new step, you'll be prompted to decide the logic path. Select which options from your previous step will jump to this step.

šŸ’”Tip: If you want all options from an NPSĀ® answer type to move to the next step, click the Select all checkbox.

Use the builder to create your logic (Map view)

Our interactive builder lets you create, visualize, and test logic within the builder itself. Drag nodes to connect them to different steps. This will change their logic accordingly.
