Almost shot the perfect video but sneezed in the last second? Or maybe you weren't looking directly into the camera when you started recording?
No worries, you can quickly trim down your video footage from within your VideoAsk account. 🎉

Trim a video
VideoAsk allows you to trim the beginning and end of your videos. If you're hoping to cut a middle section out of your video footage or otherwise edit your video, you'll need to use an external video editing tool.
Note: Be aware that trimming reprocesses your entire video and counts towards your processing minutes limit.
Log in to your VideoAsk account and select the videoask that you want to edit. Click Build to open the videoask builder.
Click a step to edit it.
Go to the Video tab.
Click the Trim video icon.
Drag the < > arrows at the beginning and end of your video footage so what's left in between them is the footage you want to keep.
Check you're happy with the video trim by playing it back in the builder preview.
When everything looks good, click Trim.
Confirm by clicking OK.
Click Done when trimming is complete.
Note: To use the video trimming feature, your video footage must be over 5 seconds long.
Retrieve your original video
If you accidentally trim off a bit more than planned, you can easily retrieve your original video.
Click the Replace video icon.
Select Library from the video footage source to access your media library.
Select your original video...
...then click Continue.
Tip: You can use the search bar to find your original video based on keywords from the transcription.
And that's it! Everything should be back to how it was before you got the scissors out! ✂️
FAQ
Can I delete a frame from the middle of a video?
No. Not from within your VideoAsk account. If you want to cut middle sections out of a video we suggest downloading your video, making any edits in an external video editing tool and re-uploading your video to your media library, or exporting it via our integration with Descript.
Help! I trimmed too much of my video. Can I get the original one back?
Sure thing, you can easily retrieve your original video.
The video quality looks lower on the trimmed version. What's happened?
When we trim the video we have to re-keyframe it. This means that some transcoding takes place which can occasionally affect the video quality - if this happens you can always retrieve your original video.
