Using VideoAsk in a language we don't currently support and want the text prompts your respondents see to be written in that language too? You can create your own translations or edit the VideoAsk interface with text customization.
We currently offer 13 interface languages within VideoAsk. If your language is not on the list below you can create a custom language so all the videoask prompts display in your language.
For example, if you want to create a videoask in Hungarian - a language we don't currently support - you can translate the text prompts yourself and users will see something like this:
Note: By default, all videoasks will be set to English, unless you have created your own default videoask settings.
If you're looking to edit just some of the text prompts in your videoask, but you don't want to translate them into another language, check out this guide on how to customize the text prompts in your videoask.

Currently, you can set your videoask language to one of the following options:
- English
- Spanish
- Catalan
- French
- Portuguese (Portugal)
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- German
- Dutch
- Italian
- Russian
- Turkish
- Swedish
When you select one of these languages, it will automatically change the interface text and prompts within your videoask to the chosen language. Note, however, that this will not affect your caption and transcription language.
ā ļø Important: For transcriptions to work you will need to set the correct language before collecting video/audio responses. Learn how to set the caption language.
Create a custom language
Log in to your VideoAsk account and select the videoask you want to edit. Click Build from the options at the top to open your videoask builder.

š” Pro tip: If you're not doing a full translation and just want to customize a few of the prompts, use the built-in browser search (i.e., command + F on Macs) to quickly find the right prompt.
When youāre done editing, hit Save custom language.
Now that you've created your own language, you can use it for any videoask in your account. Just choose your custom language from the dropdown list of languages.
