You can customize many of the default text prompts in your videoask to keep them relevant to your use case and on brand with your company's voice.
For example, if you're a skincare company you might want to swap out "Book a meeting" to say "Schedule a free skin consultation" instead. If you're using VideoAsk to collect testimonials you could change the CTA (call to action) from "Submit your answer" to "I'm ready to send my review".
Check out the tutorial video below to learn how to change the interface text prompts on your videoask, or keep reading for a step-by-step guide:
Note: Customizing text prompts or button text follows the same flow as creating a new custom language for your videoask. But don't worry, you don't have to edit all the text prompts or change the language - you can just pick and choose the parts you'd like to customize to match your business needs.

Customize the text prompts in your videoask
Log in to your VideoAsk account and select the videoask you want to edit. Click Build to open your videoask builder.
Click the Settings icon.
Click the + icon to Add new custom texts in the sidebar next to Languages.
Give the custom language a name. Then select the base language from our list of existing languages in the dropdown menu.
The base language will give you a starting point to customize the interface text prompts, so, for example, if your videoask is set to French, choose French as the base language.
Note: By default, all videoasks will be set to English, unless you have created your own default videoask settings.
Click Create.
Now, you can edit the prompts or button text that people see in your videoask. To change a prompt, simply enter your preferred text into the text field for that particular prompt.
Each field has a character limit, so make sure to keep things short and sweet. You’ll see the number used and the maximum number of characters permitted on the right side of each text field.
You can use the built-in browser search (i.e., command + F on Macs) to quickly find the right prompt and save scrolling.
💡 Pro tip: If you'd like to add a hyperlink to your text prompts, you can use the following HTML code, just replace the placeholder URL and link text with your own:
<a href='http://YOUR_URL/' target='_blank'>LINK_TEXT</a>
Example: <a href='http://www.videoask.com/' target='_blank'>read more here</a>
When you’re done editing, hit Save custom language.
Now that you've edited your chosen prompts, you can use this customized version for any videoask in your account. Just choose it from the dropdown list of languages.
When you do, this customized version will be applied to your videoask. 🎉
Edit your text prompts
You can update the text prompts at any time. Before doing so, note that any changes you make will be applied to all videoasks that are currently using that custom language template.
Sign in to your VideoAsk account and select the videoask you want to edit. Click Build to open your videoask builder.
Click the Settings icon.
In the Languages section, select the custom language you want to edit from the dropdown list.
Click the edit icon to Edit custom texts.
Make any desired edits to your text prompts. When you're done editing, click Save changes to update the current custom language or Save as copy to duplicate it.
Note: If you choose to Save changes, this will change the interface text of all videoasks using this language setting.
If you choose to save your custom language as a copy, you’ll also be prompted to confirm a name and base language. After doing so, click Create.
Delete your customized text prompts
Sign in to your VideoAsk account and select the videoask you want to edit. Click Build to open your videoask builder.
Click the Settings icon.
In the Languages section, select the custom language you want to delete from the dropdown list.
Click the edit icon to Edit custom texts.
Click the Delete button on the upper right-hand side.
Type the name of your custom language to confirm you truly want to delete it. Then click Yes, delete it.
Note: Deleting a custom language cannot be undone. Be aware that deleting a custom language that is currently being used by a videoask will revert all interface text to the default text in English. You can only delete custom languages you create, not the default languages available in VideoAsk.
